Places to Find Good Boys

We all know about bad boys, right? They’re the heroes we all love - alpha, sexy and a little bit dangerous. Brrrr…(delicious little shiver)

On Sunday when I was driving to pick up my husband from his golf trip, the radio announcer was talking about the best places to meet good boys. Supposedly they’re the nice men who want a relationship and marriage. Here are the seven locations where you’ll find those good boys:

1. A CD/DVD store
2. At church (but not at a wedding)
3. A computer store
4. A nice cafe
5. Upmarket department store
6. A healthfood store
7. A nice restaurant

So there you have it. These are the recommended places to find a good man. What do you think? Have you found a man in one of these places? Where did you find your man? Would you prefer not to frequent any of these places and stick with a bad boy? Can you suggest a great place/places to find a bad boy?

PS - I met my husband in a bank. I kid you not

Eggs?

As most of you know, I’ve been traveling for work. After travelling all day, and I mean ALL day on Friday trying to get home, I was a zombie-walking, non-typing, totally out of it…something or other. After running my daughter around on errands, which I don’t quite remember, I was talking to my son Saturday night. I couldn’t think of a single thing to blog about so like any good mother with fried brains, I asked him to give me a blog subject.

His answer - “How do you like your eggs and why?”

Of course, I’m too tired to think there was anything the least bit wrong with this subject…so let’s just go with it.

His next question was, “And what do you like on them?” He likes ‘em scrambled with a dash of salt and a little bit of pepper. Absolutely no ketchup. But he will do the occasional dollop of Mrs. Butterworth’s pancake syrup. Go figure.

To finish the subject, I asked, “Why do you like scrambled eggs?”

“Cuz they taste better than runny,” he said. Then he gave me that ‘duh’ look that only teenagers can pull off. You know, the look that makes you feel a hundred years old and three times as dumb?

So, since this is an author blog, let’s make it interesting (as if it weren’t already interesting enough, eh?) - In my Ellora’s Cave Torrid Tarot book, Egyptian Voyage, the bad guy is a chic, debonair, older gentleman with the charm and good looks of Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. His name is Eden Pall, and I’d like to know how you think he’d like his eggs.

EGYPTIAN VOYAGE BLURB: Chrysalyn Geyer couldn’t have been more miffed with her boss for sending her on a mandatory three month vacation. On a private residence cruise ship, she prepared herself for what was sure to be pure boredom. Then he appeared - Rognlie Benson. What was he doing here? And while her spirit guide was happy to see the man, Chrys couldn’t see past knocking him senseless for breaking her heart the last time she’d seen him.

But Ron is determined to do anything to win Chrys back, including protect her from the crazed but refined looking gentleman quietly stalking her from port to port. Besides, he wouldn’t be a good undercover agent if he didn’t at least do a little work while he tried to ‘work’ his way past Chrys’ bed and into her heart. Even if he must keep a few deadly secrets to do it.

My Day & Writing

I’ve just arrived home after a very busy day, and as soon as I finish this post I’m going to sit down with a glass of wine and chat to my hubby.

I went into Auckland today since it was our chapter meeting for Romance Writers of New Zealand. I made a quick stop at the library to check out some books on tattoos and piercings, which I need for my current work in progress, before heading to the meeting. I did the workshop today and spoke briefly on “Knowledge is Power” and how a writer needs to keep up with the market, current needs and trends etc to help them make it in this business. That’s right - not only do you need to write a great book and have a dose of good luck along the way, you also need to become market savvy! My talk went quite well, and I won a prize in the raffle. Can’t do much better than that. One of the books I won was by New Zealander, Yvonne Lindsay, and she signed it for me. Color me happy since I like to win things, too

And in breaking news, I’ve sold another novella to Ellora’s Cave. This one is called Last Wish and is another gay romance. The next book in the queue is a Middlemarch one - just as soon as I finish my current WIP (the one I needed the tattoo reference books for). This is for all of you out there who keep emailing me about Middlemarch. The very next book - I promise!

Don’t forget about the contest. Comment on any of the posts and go into the draw to win a copy of UNFORGETTABLE
