Procrastination!

I’ve had all of Easter off. No writing, although I did think about stuff and made a plan for the rest of the year, which is unheard of and another topic entirely.

Today it was time to get back to work. I don’t wanna do it!! I have procrastinated big time. I read my email and took care of correspondence. I took the dog for a walk. I had breakfast and made the mistake of turning on my PDA - just to read a chapter of Lorelei James’ latest book you understand. Yikes!! I’m going gunnin’ for that lady. She writes an awesome book. One chapter turned into several. The news came on. Aghast, I realized it was ten o’clock. Okay, time to start work. But did I? No, it’s such a nice day I went for a bike ride. Now I’m back and I’m blogging. Oh dear!

I am gonna work today. I am! Except I need a shower first…

If you’re looking for ways to procrastinate tomorrow pop over to my blog and say hello to my guest Amanda Ashby. Amanda is giving away a copy of her paranormal You Had Me At Halo. It’s a great book and was awarded a 4 1/2 star Top Pick by Romantic Times.

Emily Ryan-Davis is having a List Mom day at the Ellora’s Cave reader’s list tomorrow. She and Cara Carnes are all about kisses. It sounds like fun.

What are your favorite ways to procrastinate?

  1. Well, it’s not that I have favorite ways of procrastinating…they just kinda happen *grin* The main one that gets me is the blasted e-mail. I’ve got to MAKE myself stop checking it. Because once I check it, the e-mail create several other things I need to do, or folks I need to get back to. Next thing I know, half the day is gone. And since I don’t have alot of time to write during the week, the weekends are when I’ supposed to focus. Cough-cough… Never you mind ;D

  2. The internet. Oh. My. God. I can get sucked into scrabulous at facebook and then I need to check livejournal and then of course I need to look at Amazon and then gofugyourself and then over to tvgasm and before I know it, hours and hours have passed.

  3. Oh procrastination, I’m an adult who dreads homework. I’ll strat my homework, then somehow find myself around the blogspere or at the beach.
I’m hapy being a just in time girl. :D

    Hugs, Danette

  4. I’m so glad I’m not alone!! The internet is responsible for large amounts of lost time.

Danette - if I lived in Hawaii, I’d be at the beach as well. I really fell in love with Hawaii after our trip last year.

  5. I think that one of the key ways to eliminate the tendency to procrastinate is to take a close look at your to-do list and single out that one Item you really DO NOT want to do. When you have your eyes on it - be sure to do it first! Do the one thing you do not want to do first and then the rest of your day is great. Start to do this every day and make it a habit and soon every day is a great day!

Procrasti-NATION must fall - I am working the details of eliminating Procrasti-Nation here:

    Maybe it will help?
